Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Russian-language web community RichardDawkins.ru, dedicated to the outstanding biologist and science popularizer. This community is primarily intended for a Russian-speaking audience. The creators of RichardDawkins.ru, on their own initiative and at their own expense, translate original English-language articles and post them on the website, where they can be read by everyone. The website has been neither endorsed nor approved by Professor Dawkins; however, both the materials and the topics discussed here have close affinity with the content of RichardDawkins.net. At the same time, this website obviously caters to a different audience and pursues somewhat different goals. The main mission of the Russian-language website is to provide information about the life and work of Professor Dawkins as well as the activities of the Richard Dawkins Foundation, and thus promote public understanding of science in Russia.

Another aim is to give Russian readers an opportunity to purchase books by Professor Dawkins. In the nearest future, we are planning to significantly expand the website by setting up forums, social networks, links to external resources, as well as news blogs, both in Russian and English, about what goes on in Russian science, politics and religious life.

We will be happy to cooperate with any organizations and persons who are interested in the views and creative work of Professor Dawkins, his friends and his colleagues.
